To build a sustainable tourism development strategy for Long An Province, the research expert team conducted a comprehensive inventory, classification, and assessment of tourism resources within the province. The fieldwork process not only helped to clearly identify the potential of each destination but also created an important basis for orienting the development of characteristic tourism products, contributing to enhancing Long An’s competitiveness in the Mekong Delta region and on Vietnam’s tourism map.
1. Objectives and Implementation Methods
The objectives of the survey were: ✔ To inventory all tourism resources, including cultural heritage, scenic spots, entertainment venues, historical relics, and natural and man-made resources. ✔ To assess the current state of conservation, exploitation, and promotion of tourism resource values. ✔ To analyze development potential and challenges in the process of tourism exploitation. ✔ To propose suitable tourism product development directions and build Long An’s tourism brand.
2. Implementation Methods ✔ Field surveys: Conducting direct assessments at over 50 tourist spots in the province. ✔ Community and expert interviews: Collecting opinions from local residents, tourists, and industry experts to gain a multi-dimensional perspective. ✔ Resource value analysis using the Mean method: Ranking resources according to scientific criteria to identify high-value resource groups with potential for sustainable exploitation.
